American Fireworks History

American Fireworks is over 25 years old. Our owner and Chief Executive Officer, has been in the fireworks business over 35 years. American Fireworks is a member of the Texas Pyrotechnic Association (TPA), the American Pyrotechnic Association (APA), the American Fireworks Standards Laboratory (AFSL), and the National Council on Fireworks Safety (NCFS). American Fireworks is home based on Highway 71 east of Austin, Texas in Bastrop, Texas and is licensed to do business in Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. We are a retail and wholesale fireworks company. Currently, we have approximately 200 fireworks outlets, 8 retail stores and two wholesale warehouse outlets, all located in Texas.

Our goal is to provide our customers, both small business owners and consumers, with the safest products and the most professional customer service in the fireworks business.

Chester Davis, CEO

Chester Davis is the owner and CEO of Ches-Lee Enterprises, Inc., DBA American Fireworks based in Bastrop, Texas. Ches-Lee is a wholesale and retail fireworks business. Chester has been in the fireworks industry for over 39 years. He has been a member of the AFSL Board of Directors since September 2005. He also is the Past President of the American Pyrotechnic Association. He is President of the Texas Pyrotechnic Association, and a member of the Board of Directors of the National Council on Fireworks Safety. Chester is a licensed lobbyist for Ches-Lee Enterprises, Inc. dba American Fireworks, in Texas. His company has been an active importer member of AFSL since 2001.

American Fireworks is a leader in the Fireworks Industry today. The Company has always had the home office in Texas and was established and built by Texans. American imports 99% of all the fireworks products directly from China. All of our products are tested by the American Fireworks Standards Laboratory (AFSL) before leaving China and tested again at our warehouse in Bastrop, Texas. We provide the finest Black Cat® merchandise available. Our exclusive brand of merchandise is Big Thunder® which we believe to be the highest quality merchandise with the greatest customer satisfaction of any product. This Big Thunder® product gives our retailer the biggest advantage for sales against the competition anywhere. Today, American Fireworks makes our own assortments (safe and sane included) and Big Thunder® Artillery shell packages in Bastrop, Texas. We also build many customized orders for our many customers who have special needs to help their small business to be profitable.
